Free intellectual property workshops
The Australian Centre for Intellectual Property in Agriculture (ACIPA), in conjunction with Horticulture Australia Ltd (HAL) is holding two free workshops on intellectual property (IP) issues for horticulture industries.
The workshops are designed for members of the horticulture industry who need to understand the role of IP (plant breeder’s rights, patents, trade marks and copyright) in protecting and commercialising the results of research and development.
Both workshops take place on Thursday, August 21. The morning workshop (9.45am to 12.30pm) is an overview of IP and will cover recent developments in the area.
The afternoon workshop (1.15pm to 4pm) is about commercialisation and adoption and will show researchers how to manage their IP and maximise commercial outcomes.
Both workshops will be held at Lecture Theatre, Plant Breeding Institute, The University of Sydney, 107 Cobbitty Road, Cobbitty.
