Agri-Food Skills International Fellowship
Nursery & Garden Industry Personnel urged to apply!
The Board of the Agri-Food Industry Skills Council has announced a new Agri-Food International Fellowship to study overseas. The fellowship is aimed particularly at established, highly capable and experienced industry practitioners who may have broad technical expertise or a record of achievement in their fields. It will promote the acquisition of new skills, knowledge and innovative ideas overseas and to see these findings delivering benefits to the Agri-Food Industry in Australia.
The fellowship is valued at $10,000 and will enable the award winner to undertake an overseas study program. Entries close on September 5 and the winner will be announced during the AFISC National Conference in Melbourne on September 25. The fellowship is an initiative under the ISS Institute 'Overseas Skills Acquisition Plan (Overseas Fellowships)' and is funded by the Agri-Food Industry Skills Council.
According to AFISC the fellowship is ‘very valuable and we want it to enable the winner to research and then deliver substantial benefits to industry here in Australia’. The Fellowship is aimed to assist in furthering the AFISC industry’s capabilities in areas where there are currently no nationally accredited courses at either TAFE or university level.
The International Specialised Skills Institute Inc (ISS Institute) is a prestigious and independent, national organisation. The Institute identifies and researches "skill deficiencies" and then closes the deficiency through its Overseas Skill Acquisition Plan (Fellowship Program), its education and training activities, professional development events and business services.
