Savewater Awards

The Savewater® Alliance is celebrating the launch of its 7th national Savewater® Awards. This program is dedicated to recognising and rewarding outstanding achievements in water conservation. Regarded as the nation’s leading water sustainability awards, the program showcases water saving innovation in businesses and local communities across a number of categories.

These include:

• Built Environment and Garden
• Business Award
• International Product
• Regional & Rural Award

This year Australian Product winners will have the opportunity to compete against the rest of the world as a result of the Product Innovations category being opened to international competition.

Business Award

The Business Award recognises outstanding water savings achieved by businesses. This category targets demonstrated innovation and achievement in the reduction of water used.

Two Awards will be presented in this category:

• Small Businesses (less than 50 staff)
• Large Businesses (more than 50 staff)

International Product Innovations Award

This category rewards the development and commercialisation of a product that minimises potable water consumption. Products can include (but are not limited to) domestic appliances, consumer products, commercial equipment, washing systems, water storage and irrigation.

Two Awards will be presented in this category:

• An International product innovations Award
• An Australian product innovations Award

Regional & Rural Award

This Award recognises outstanding water savings achieved by manufacturing, primary production and retailing in regional and rural areas.

Award entries close Monday June 1, 2009. Winners will be announced at a gala ceremony in Sydney on Friday October 9, 2009.
