Government Quarantine and Biosecurity Review
NGIA has made a submission to the Government’s Biosecurity and Quarantine Review.
The submission was compiled by John McDonald, Industry Development Manager NGIQ, and detailed the industry’s concerns with how the national quarantine and biosecurity programs are impacting on the industry.
As John is on the National Consultative Committee for plant pest incursions, the submission was both relevant and constructive in what was needed in the future. With the newly released guidelines for Biosecure HACCP, the nursery and garden industry is well prepared to ensure stakeholders within the industry have the tools to ensure their business can meet any changes in legislation.
Growers interested in the new Biosecure HACCP program should contact their State Associations or Industry Development Officers for further details.
