National Training Package – Your input is vital!
The Agri-Food Industry Skills Council (AFISC) is one of 10 Industry Skills Councils established to provide accurate industry intelligence on current and future skill needs and training requirements. The council's funding principally is provided by the Australian Government through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.
AFISC is seeking industry comment on the draft qualifications for three training packages that are being merged into a single, larger training package. An earlier feasibility study has been endorsed by the AFISC board to combine these. They now wish to reach broad industry consensus about draft qualifications being developed for this merged training package.
AFISC has been working on merging of the following three training packages:
• The Rural Production Training Package RTE03
• Conservation and Land Management Training Package RTD02
• Amenity Horticulture Training Package RTF03
This is where YOU come in! Have you completed a Horticulture qualification – or have you employed a graduate? Now is your chance to make a difference.
If you believe that current Certificate I, II, III, IV, Diploma and Advance Diploma courses available to industry personnel require change PLEASE take some time to look at the current draft documents located on the AFISC websiteCLICK HERE
Your comments can be made directly through the council’s Continuous Improvement Register on www.agrifoodskills.net.au or by forwarding your comments to NGIA’s National Training Manager, Fiona Kelly, on Fiona.kelly@ngia.com.au. Forwarding your comments directly to Fiona is preferable.
The qualifications for the merged package will go to final form when all feedback and comments have been examined.
If you require further information on the Training Package review, please contact AFISC on 02 6163 7200 or via their website.
