2008 Yates Nursery & Garden Industry Awards national judges confirmed
Ian Collins and Peter Whitehead have been confirmed as the national judges of garden centres and production nurseries for the 2008 Yates Nursery & Garden Industry Awards.
As the former owner of Colourwise Nursery in New South Wales, Ian has played an active role in the nursery and garden industry for over 25 years, and says the awards are an important element to the growth of the industry.
“The Nursery and Garden Industry Awards can go a long way in encouraging nursery people to be as good as they can be,” Ian says.
Peter Whitehead has been involved with the industry for over 20 years and is currently the vice president of the Horticulture Media Association (NSW/ACT).
Peter says he is delighted NGIA’s Board invited him to become this year’s national garden centre judge.
“Our industry has some amazing businesses and I am privileged to be able to visit some of the best.”
National judging of state winners for the garden centre and production nursery awards is scheduled to take place from mid January to early March.
The National Winners of the 2008 Yates Nursery & Garden Industry Awards will be announced at the National Conference Gala Dinner on March 28, 2008 in Glenelg, South Australia.
