NGIA welcomes new Training & Recognition Manager
With a diverse professional background encompassing event management, public relations and even commercial floristry, new National Training & Recognition Manager Fiona Kelly brings a wealth of experience to the industry.
As national training manager for Meetings & Events Australia (MEA), Fiona joins the Nursery & Garden Industry Australia (NGIA) office with extensive experience in industry skills development and project management. Fiona’s achievements included doubling workshop attendance rates in the industry, setting up the Association as a registered training organisation (RTO) and developing and expanding the Association’s library of industry-specific training topics. She was also responsible for the MEA accreditation and recognition portfolio.
Fiona’s tasks as National Training & Recognition Manager at NGIA will include promoting the nursery and garden industry as a worthwhile and valuable profession and building career pathways for a highly skilled workforce. Fiona will be responsible for managing the Certified Nursery Professional program, developing a wide range of industry-specific workshops and working closely with education and training providers to develop and promote courses that directly benefit the industry.
