International sources confirm economic value of plants and gardens
A growing body of research supports the view that plants and gardens have the potential to significantly increase the value of real estate.
Money Magazine (June) reports that high quality landscaping can add 5 to 11 percent to the price of a home, subject to its location, according to a Michigan State University study funded by Horticultural Research Institute.
Drawing on sources from the American Nursery & Landscape Association, the article also reported that ‘landscaping adds more value than almost any other home renovation’ and further, ‘is the only home improvement that actually appreciates over time.’
