Achievable Gardens and consumer website promote accredited garden centres all year round
The Life is a Garden consumer website is continuing to drive consumers into accredited garden centres through a new initiative that showcases the Achievable Garden designs from the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show.
The Achievable Gardens project, by Nursery & Garden Industry Victoria (NGIV), targets the thousands of Australians who would love to have a beautiful garden but perhaps lack the skill, time or money to have the gardens they admire in garden shows or lifestyle magazines.
Commencing this month, the website www.lifeisagarden.com.au will be featuring one of 14 exciting garden designs, complete with planting recommendations and easy to follow plans, every month. The Achievable Gardens Design Cards provide consumers with stylish designs that can be easily recreated in their own backyards – with a little help from their local garden centre. All 14 gardens were exhibited at the 2007 Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show with glowing reviews.
Accredited garden centres will be sent in store promotional material and copies of the plans to meet the demand generated.
“The Achievable Gardens design cards makes the dream of a stylish designer garden a reality,” said national communications & PR manager, Tracey Wigg.
“Featuring the designs on the website allows us to emphasise accredited garden centres as a valuable local source of expertise, advice and products all year round.?rdquo;
Consumers can download the garden designs online or visit their nearest accredited garden centre for a copy of the plans. The website also advises consumers to ask experienced staff for handy tips and help in adjusting the plans to meet the individual needs of their own backyard and local climate.
The first design being showcased is the Aussie Kitchen Garden by Michael Lyall, NMIT Greensborough.
