Industry Training Package Update
AgriFood Skills Australia (AFISC) have advised us that they are ‘working’ on our original requests (as forwarded to them in July 2008) for mandatory units in Nursery qualifications and for specialisations in all qualifications from Certificate III through to Diploma level.
This latest update from AFISC has come in response to our formal letter forwarded to them in October 09 advising that the current validation draft for the new AHC training package continues to be unacceptable to our industry.

Recent meetings between NGIA and other horticulture industry sector associations has uncovered similar (if not identical) issues relating to the consultation process between AFISC and industry on the AHC training package and the recently released documentation from AFISC.
We will continue to work with industry groups and AgriFood Skills Australia until an acceptable outcome has been reached.
For further information on the status of the draft qualifications go to the AFISC website www.agrifoodskills.net.au or call Fiona Kelly at NGIA on
