Robert takes over as acting CEO
Things have changed in the NGIA office since October. With the resignation of Jenny Lambert, Robert Prince has picked up the reins as acting CEO.
Robert, who was originally employed as NGIA’s national environmental and technical policy manager, says he feels very positive about his new role.
“There are some challenges to be faced in the industry at present as there is a changing environment in terms of market exposure and government regulation.”
Robert says while he is ‘acting’, he is under direction from the board to continue to progress with the important industry strategic plan and will be working to ensure all NGIA’s other projects and programs will keep moving forward.
Although he has only been with the association for the past 12 months, Robert has had considerable and extensive experience within the industry, both technically and in terms of marketing.
At present he is wearing two hats, busily working as acting CEO and continuing to carry out the role of national environmental and technical policy manager.
Dedicated to good corporate governance, NGIA President Geoff Richards and Board have opened up the CEO role to outside applications.
Robert says he is fully understanding of this and will be applying for the position.
He goes on to say that while there appears to have been considerable change in the NGIA office in terms of staff recently, this has not caused major disruptions to programs or to the main focus of the association.
“We have been provided with new opportunities to review and refresh our processes, and map out a positive path on which to move forward.”
