Flemings wins Silver-Gilt at Chelsea
The only Australian Garden at the world famous Chelsea Flower Show has won a Silver-Gilt Medal in the Show Garden category.
The award of the Silver-Gilt Medal to Fleming’s Trailfinders Australian Garden is the fourth medal to be won by Fleming's Director Wes Fleming at the Chelsea Flower Show. Wes has previously won two gold medals and a silver-gilt.
The stunning garden was led by nurseryman Wes Fleming and designer Mark Browning.
For Wes, Chelsea represents a chance to showcase great Australian talent on the world stage.
“We are very proud of our achievement at the greatest flower show in the world. We have extraordinary talent in design and horticulture in Australia and to be rewarded at the highest level reaffirms Australia’s place on the world stage,” Wes said.
“This garden is very, very different from anything else at Chelsea. We’ve used foliage instead of flowers; the colours of the garden are dark and the garden itself is moody. In true Aussie style, it’s a break from tradition – and the feedback has been enormously positive," he added.
Chelsea attracts the crème of the landscaping industry from around the world.
The Queen, Rolf Harris and the Queen of Sweden have all visited the Australian Garden.
